Description
Stratafix Spiral Monocryl Plus Suture is a synthetic, absorbable, knotless monofilament suture designed to provide secure wound closure with consistent tension control. The undyed suture material is composed of poliglecaprone 25 and incorporates Irgacare MP, which delivers antibacterial properties effective against pathogens commonly associated with surgical site infections.
The suture delivers high initial tensile strength and maintains sufficient support for one to two weeks, which is crucial during the early stages of wound healing. Gradual hydrolytic absorption begins soon after placement, with complete mass absorption occurring between 90 and 120 days. This profile makes it suitable for internal soft tissue approximation where an absorbable monofilament is preferred.
The PS-2 needle, measuring 19 mm and shaped in a 3/8 circle reverse cutting design, enables precise, smooth penetration and minimizes tissue trauma. The 30 cm suture length is ideal for small to medium-sized surgical sites, providing enough length for closure without excessive material remaining.
